I'm looking for long lost buds from Oroville. I lived there from about '55 ti '65. Went to St Thomas grade school, Sierra Avenue grade school, and Nelson Ave school. I left right before graduating from the 8th grade at Nelson Ave. Some old friends I'm looking for are John Zanacanella, Steve Coppage, Bill Zavalos, and Terry (she) Brown. Terry moved to SoCal a in '64 I believe. They all would be 44-45 now. I have fond memories of Oroville and the surrounding communities. We are moving to Chico in AUGUST and would like to find a 1 bdrm (or low rent 2 bdrm) house (not aprtmnt) to rent before we arrive. Summer can be a lonely time. Most of your friends go home. Classes are done. It seems like there is no good way to meet the fair sex without getting looped while barhopping (not that barhopping has been all that successful for me). My husband and I are hoping to relocate to the Chico area in the near future (before the end of the year).
Does anyone have any possible suggestions for job opportunities in the area??
My husband is a welder. I am an Accounts Payable Technician.
Also, can you assist me in some possible apartments/housing with 3 or 4 bedrooms?
We have 3 children and would prefer 4 bedrooms, but cost will influence our decision.
How's the weather out there? What should I pack to wear for the end of the month?
What kind of festivities are planned for the 4th of July?
