Johnson's Country Inn: Bed and Breakfast

Harrison Room   The Harrison Room

Surry County, Virginia, 1691 -- "Harrison's Landing" on the James River and Berkeley Mansion (origin of bourbon whiskey) was the home of William H. Harrison, ninth President of the United States (AKA "Tippecanoe" when he ran for office with Tyler).  Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd U.S. President, was the grandson of William.  David, the owner of the Inn, is related to this Harrison family that landed on the shores of Virginia in the sixteenth century, well before the United States was founded.  Adeline Harrison Johnson of Tennessee was David's grandmother.  The Harrison Room furniture attests to the finest historical furnishings of this period.
