Create each of the following projects. They should not look identical to those shown. They are simply examples. Reveiw each of the descriptions listed below each project. If you need extra help, click on the link for "HINTS". To import a photo or commercial clipart, from photoshop, choose File[Open] and then double click on your folder name...not the lab drive. All photos and clipart are now stored on your workstation and not on the lab drive.
Design each of the following projects and place them in your PROJECTS folder. Flatten the image and then Save As: as indicated at each project 1-5.
1. Save As: CD Cover

This project requires you to design an original creation constrained by the measurements of a standard CD Cover (12cm x 12cm). The creation should utilize sharp graphics from scanned images. (HINTS)

2. Save As: Colouring and Desaturation

How can you use the crop tool in photo retouching?
This project is designed to explore your creative talents and
test your Photoshop skills. You must design an original creation.
(i.e. scanning or photography), desaturate your image, and add
colour to one or two elements inside your picture. (HINTS)

3. Save As: Surrealism

This project requires you to design an original creation which
is cannot possibly exist in reality. It will require advanced
use of
selection tools and image sizing.

4. Save As: Photo Retouching

This project involves the retouching and correction of an old
photograph. Students must demonstrate the ability to perform
tonal corrections, crop & rotation, removal of colour casts,
adjustment of hue & saturation, and transparent elimination
of
unwanted areas of an image (i.e. blemishes, imperfections, cracks,
etc...)
Image shows retouching in a minimum of 4 areas
Use of tonal corrections improve image quality
Removal of unwanted elements is transparent to viewer

5. Save As: Advertising

This assignment will require you to take a normal advertisement
and design a serious or comedic spoof as demonstrated by the
examples in class. You must develop a strong idea through the
use of precise selections and enhancements in Photoshop.
